Keep it simple. How about just a simple stick, one with a little bit of heft to it? The boots are good too.

You should see Maryvale. It is metropolitan, but was a nice place 30-40 years ago, not so much now.

Sure, but in that case, why bother with heft?
Maybe just a good sharp point on one end?

Long-handle hay pitchfork!?
(Which also makes setting them down somewhere else easier when you're done, just like with other people's out-of-control small children.)

Well, that was certainly worth blowing a hole into down town El Paso!

Because it feels better when you make solid contact, and I'd like the option of doing more than leaving nasty welts.

Personal preference. I'd rather break the little fuckers than pick them up like litter. (Had a former neighbor with a little chihuaha/pomeranian-type asshole dog, it was a vicious little completely untrained bastard.)

If you're planning on putting them down again (presumably still usable), maybe something like this?

Nah. Usable, schmosable. The pitchfork gets you better standoff reach, more positive control, and better hangtime when you launch them.
True Temper Model 1823300 FTW.
