I think it must have something to do with the fantasy world that gamers live in.

Re: Gamer thread (Steam ID-s)
I'd be interested to hear what connotations a gamer thinks of when he self-identifies as a gamer. When two people meet for the first time and figure out that they're both gamers, what automatic assumptions do they make about each other?
And, don't say, "It's a gamer thing. You wouldn't understand."

Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

I think it's so that instead of playing the solo missions versus the computer in a game you can play online with real people as your allies and enemies.Rod wrote:Shows how innocent I am, don't know what Steam ID is.
In practice though all these online games just fill up with irritating 10 year olds shouting " Pwned !! " and " Nooob !! " at the top of their squeaky pre-pubescent voices

I guess that just where I belong
That just the way the dice roll

Find out what kind of games they're into before the assumptions start.Weetabix wrote:I'd be interested to hear what connotations a gamer thinks of when he self-identifies as a gamer. That's what options like "mute entire lobby (except for party)" are for.Highspeed wrote:In practice though all these online games just fill up with irritating 10 year olds shouting " Pwned !! " and " Nooob !! " at the top of their squeaky pre-pubescent voices
