Waded through the bullshit.
He says a lot of true things, but invariably embeds them between either outright prevarications or half-truths.
Short answer.... He may actually be a competent martial artist, but his system is another pile of crap.

Yes.
From all accounts I have gathered and looking at his background he is legit and his material is sound for regarding self defense/survival fighting. However his marketting and personality in general probably leaves one wanting to listen to less "awesomeness" and learn more.
His methodology is known to be influenced by the Applegate, Fairburn and Cestari groups who were pretty much the grandfathers of modern "quick kill" close quarter combat systems.
When it comes to this stuff there are two primary criteria that if are addressed are worth taking a deeper look into..... 1: Elimination of the Threat in 10 seconds or less 2:Everything is a culmination of delivering intent rather than engaging in mutual combat.
The rest is a product of instructors experiences and beliefs concerning the remaining issues.

There are vids around of him on various TV programs showing the little blond talking-head how to take out the big guy in the red marshmallow suit. She (all of 'em)'s VERY impressed - and not smart enough to recognize it might not work so well for her when the guy doesn't want to fall down...
