What is your oldest gun?

Post by 1991A1 »

Mine is a Hopkins and Allen 12 gauge break-action single shot. According to my Flayderman's guide the company went out of business in 1914, so it is at least 94 years old.

Nowhere close to that, but my K31 is from 1936. Makes it about McCain's age.

Mine is my grandfathers Husqvarna rifle and shutgun. I have no idea how old they are, and dont know where I can find out either, but I've always thought they were from the 1940's or so, give or take. The guns were old and wellused when I was a kid...

Wow...
I have googled this before, but for some reason I decided to try again now. And I must have hit the perfect phrase, because I found a list with the serial numbers and year.

The Husqvarna 9.3x57 rifle I inherited from my grandfather was made in 1938! It's 70 years old now :D

My oldest is a K98 from 1942, the oldest in the family I'd shoot (though with a light blackpowder handload) is a really old shotgun with exposed hammers and damascus barrles, not sure how old it is but probably pre-WW1 at the least, the oldest we have in the fam is one from the French & Indian war.

And we have a krag carbine but I think that might be younger than the shotgun.

Probably my family's old .20 ga break action single shot. Age and make are unknown- it just says "White Powder Wonder" on the barrel.

My Mossberg .22 training rifle, High Standard .22 pistol, and Baby Browning are also of unknown age- pre '68 is very likely for all of them.
