Was I the only one whose suspension of disbelief went on vacation after seeing a fighter jet shot down by the fifty cal of a free-falling tank?

Well, I believe the tactic was first postulated by the training and procedures office of the short lived 102nd Airborne (Armored), the Fighting Meteors, but was abandoned after the first training jump with their full equipment (which happened to be M1 Abrams).

Watching a movie spin-off of a cheesy 80's TV show is like eating at McDonalds in Paris because it's familiar.

Are the bad guy's vehicles going to get blown completely up and then have the scene cut back to show them all crawl out alive?

I try to look on the positive side. All of those good shows that never did as well as they should have will be given a second to chance to rise zombie-like from the grave.Watching a movie spin-off of a cheesy 80's TV show is like eating at McDonalds in Paris because it's familiar.

I'm looking forward to the Firefly remake that'll release sometime in the 2030's.
