Wow. I feel for the poor guy. I, personally, am looking to carry my Kimber in Condition 1 soon, but still have a lot of research to do. Number one is finding a holster that will, for sure, keep the trigger from being pulled.

I met a guy a year or so ago who brought his Kimber carry pistol to the grand opening of the indoor range I frequent. He was looking for answers to a little problem--it seems the Bianchi holster he was using had a tendency to sweep the gun's safety to Off position every time he holstered the gun. Cocked and locked became just cocked and ready to rock. Of course, being a 1911, the grip safety still had to be depressed and the trigger pulled, but that would make me quite nervous.

Umm, to continue Flintlock Tom's question, HOW do you carry a CZ 82 "cocked and locked"? I thought those Makarov clones used the same mechanism as the PPK, that is, the safety is also a de-cocker.

Same way you'd carry a 1911, only thing the CZ82 shares with the Makarov is the 9x18 mm round.

Bianchi makes one with a retention strap that serves as a hammer block. I'll look up the model and update later.

Except that the CZ-82 has no grip safety. And as someone above noted, it's a DA pistol. With a huge trigger guard for more pully pokey things to get into. And the safety is ambidextrous so it can be disengaged inside a loose, floppy bag from either side.

A CZ-82 cocked and locked is just a bad idea waiting to shoot your willie off.

Maybe the entire CZ-82 carried in Condition 1 is a "decocker."

I see.. I've never owned or fired one of those, so I didn't know. If it's like a 1911, the thought of carrying one in a thin, loose sack being bumped around while pointed at my vitals gives me the willies.

In such a holster, I wouldn't be comfortable carrying anything in condition one, grip safety or not.

I carry a revolver in my pants with a clip draw, i.e. no holster and it has never even been close to going off. A long DA pull will do tha for you.
