Considering that Modern Warfare 2 made a half a billion (Give or take) in its first week and is (despite some quibles) decidedly more Pro-American than the typical drek coming out of Hollywood I think the point still stands. And while the shooters set in the future typically do not represent modern conflicts or modern America, many of them do represent a humanocentrist view absent of the self loathing and pleas for diplomacy that infect Hollywood propaganda. The conservative ethic holds true in videogames that expand genres.
Then again; this could be due to the bery nature of many videogames themselves. People play videogames to experince action and the atavistic thrill of destroying the enemy; negotiation and self flagellation would not be nearly as popular.

MW2 was no less patriotic than any number of dozens of different Tom Clancy style books/movies.

In addition, there are some games that are as far removed from any current conflict as possible and yet still seem to carry a conservative ethos.
Take the Assassine's Creed games which center around an ancient order of libertarian assassins who are responsible for the deaths of history's greatest tyrants and spend most of their time fighting an order of Templars who wish to enslave humanity for "its own good" and in order to stop war and famine.
