Big post on astroturfing at the Jawa Report
Rusty takes a closer look at allegedly "grass roots" videos that have been smearing Palin, and questions if there's some FEC violations going on. LINK

It matters in the way that if you're aware of it, it's easier to prepare and counter it.
It also matters in the way that if you bring it out, you make them a bit more careful of what they try to get away with.
And it's also good to know that a lot of these storeis are the ones reported in the media as truth later on, I've seen a lot of these rumors reported as facts in our papers here for instance.
I doubt there will be any fines from this, they have basic deniability, and there's always someone they can throw under the bus. But most people resent being played, and letting them know this sort of thing is going on is not a bad thing.

It's not the crime, but rather the cover-up that'll bite you in the rear every time...

Re: Big post on astroturfing at the Jawa Report
It's important for three reasons.
First, it shows how dishonest Obama really is. If he'll lie about this, what else is he lying about?
Second, it taints everything coming out of the Leftist blogosphere. What else is astroturf lies?
Finally, this is starting to look like it is directly traceable to the Obama campaign. In which case it is quite possibly a violation of McCain-Feingold.
The question is, does George W. Bush have the guts to enforce the law by conducting a full investigation...and arresting Obama in late October?

Throw the book at him, and get him for violating the Logan act too.

You already know the answer to that question, otherwise he would have already been prosecuting Pelosi for violating the Logan Act.Mike OTDP wrote:The question is, does George W. Bush have the guts to enforce the law by conducting a full investigation...and arresting Obama in late October?

That video isn't 'grass roots' unless someone in the grass roots has their own in-house recording booth. Audio is too good.
