I'm not sure I have enough hyphens. I'm a little bit of everything in northwestern and central Europe, the earliest arrivals came here in the early 1700s. My kids need an extra hyphen as their Mom is none of the above.

If you were born here you are an American, no hyphens. If you weren't born here, but came here by choice to become a citizen, you are an American, no hyphen.

If you choose to use a hyphenated origin, remember it doesn't mean squat! Latin, African, Germanic, Slav, Celt, Asian, Hotentot, Inuit, SO WHAT? We are all God's Chilluns under the Stars and Stripes and the Constitution. No more equal, no less equal. No more rights, no fewer rights.
