I've decided on a weapon light for my AR in .223 Wylde which, in my opinion, best balances purpose, weight, and cost for me. A long while back (and possibly on a past life of our forums), Chris mentioned a wonderful site for flashlight lenses. Based on his advice, I did buy a flashlight lens from that site for my AA Minimag, and I estimated the increased performance as about 10% (WAG). To me, that was a great value.
I'm already going to buy an aftermarket LED assembly for the G2.
So I'm wondering: is there an aftermarket lens for the G2 Nitrolon that will provide any noticeable increase in function? The factors I have in mind are cost, value, LED compatability (heat?), and shock resistance. TIA.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Re: G2 Nitrolon Lens
G2s have an "orange peel" textured reflector. I think Surefire offers a smooth reflector for more range, but the beam is narrower and not as smooth.
I would just put the LED assembly in for shock resistance, and call it good.
