True dat. I'm just saying that this putz isn't the next Lloyd Blankenship or Kevin Mitnick, like the media is making him out to be. (Or would be, if they knew who those two are...

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Which makes them accessories.

Sick. I hope the boys responsible for this get the book thrown at them.

Would solve a lot more.Mike OTDP wrote:Perp-walk the AP leadership publicly, and the problem will solve itself.
Plenty of people get their emails broken into, often by kids that seem to feel it's a power trip. Would be a good thing to send a message to them that actions have consequences.
I hope they get the AP and all others that helped spread the material after the fact, and send them before a judge. If not, this will happen again. And again.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out she's using Yahoo! mail because she didn't see the need for the government to spend a bunch of money on equipment and salaries to house their own email system when publicly available ones get the job done just fine.
Hopefully, she's using their webmail over SSL so it's secure from sniffers.

As I understood it, it was a personal account, she has an official mailadress.
I can understand it, if you travel a lot, it's easier to have a yahoo or hotmail account for personal use, because you can check it from anywhere, really easy.
And since most companies and government organisations has a policy against private use of their mail accounts, it's better to do it that way, and have your family and friends mail you on the personal account. If not for anything else than the fact that mail to a governors official mail is subject to FOIA.
I do it that way myself, my family friends dont use my work address, unless there's a specific reason to.
The "official mail" she got, as far as I can tell, was from one of her assistants(?) that basically sent a personal mail saying "keep it up, and dont let all bad things people say get you down". I see that as a personal mail, even if it happens to be from an assistant/coworker.
There were no official businesses in the mail account. Unless there's something I havent heard about yet.

this is such a political non issue... the only issue here is that a federal crime was committed against a VP candidate and the sitting governor of Alaska...
Obama isnt involved, this isnt a liberal plot... this isnt Palin's fault... this really is and should be a non issue in the campaign.
