Picatinny rail stock?

Picatinny rail stock?

Post by Dedicated_Dad »

Hi guys. I'm trying to mount a rail on my Marlin Camp, and have a couple of other ideas...

Anyhow, the "proper" rail for the Marlin just won't work for what I'm trying to do.

I'd like to find a hunk of picatinny rail stock that I could cut to length and drill to make my own "custom" base. I've looked (and looked) but coming up blank.

Clues? Suggestions?

As always, much appreciated!

Brownells sells steel weaver rail stock, without crosscuts(The diffrence between Weaver and 1913 is the crosscuts). They also sell aluminum picatinny rail stock, but it's not cheap - an 18" length is 80 dollars.

Ebay has it fairly cheap - They'res a one foot length of aluminum stock on there for 11 bucks right now.

Mounting Solutions Plus(the ones mentioned above being sold by Brownells) also sells a steel version. Bring your wallet.

Sampson Manufacturing makes Aluminum rail with a similar price to the AL Mounts plus.

If you can live with AL, Evolution Gun Works sells the cheapest stock outside of ebay - 50 bucks for 32", with a 16" section for 25 bucks. That's with the cross cuts. Without, it gets significantly cheaper.
