Ummm... wow. That's uncanny.CByrneIV wrote:Besides which, we already have the perfect actor to play CC: Adam Savage.
No, seriously guys, if you haven't met him, CC is regularly mistaken for the mythbuster. Stopped on the street and in airports even.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

COOL!!! I did that for MANY years!! Right now I'm looking at a possible knee replacement (the knee drops and foot cams didn't help much), but I still LOVE climbing!!Rusty Ray wrote:After due consideration, and seeing the following pics of yours truly:
I can only conclude that Hollywood would have to resort to special effects to portray me, and I'm thinking Gollum, from Lord of the Rings...............

PS I tried to put the requisite picture here, but couldn't get any to attatch......Ho Hum
Have you ever been to Yosemite??? You have nothing like it in the UK, so if you ever come here (and don't have any financial or familial burdens), I'd STRONGLY suggest spending at LEAST a MONTH in Yosemite, and 1/2 of that in the high country of Toulumne Meadows, 'cause the place will be forever in your memory, even if you can't stay as long as you'd like (FEW of us can stay as long as we'd like).
WARNING, if you ever spend at month in Yosemite National Park, you 'll be FOREVER changed. You can't help it. The landscape becomes part of you and is why John Muir wrote of Yosemite so elegantly.
My wife and I have been going there for years, and even so, I've barely scratched the surface of what is Yosemite. Ive spent weeks at a time in Yosemite Valley, only to be yearning for more time to explore and experience such a wilderness (vertical as well as horizontal). The Valley is a natural cathedral, with none like it (perhaps until they FINALLY drain Hetch Hetchy valley to where it's usable) - except perhaps Hetch Hetchy may be just as beautiful as Yosemite Valley.
I don't understand all those people who complain there isn't much here in the US to look at, not much beauty, not much grandeur - and I say BULLSHIT!!!
There's LOTS of the USA to be looked at, explored, photographed, and recorded to keep explorers busy for YEARS.
People who only want to look beyond your are selling themselves short for what's right here at home - and they have NO idea what's around themselves. They're too busy looking outside at the rest of the world to notice what's right here at home.

Hey Mike, I did a lot of climbing during my time in the States, but sadly never in Yosemite...I have to agree with you, you guys do have some great climbing. And anybody saying the States ain't pretty can kiss my tattooed ass. I think my best days climbing was above Golden in Col. Then we body surfed down the river and did the free Coors brewery tour....
And Mike, here's some more climbing photos of Germany for ya. Cheers - Rusty

Pity John Matuszak's gone, I could see him playing you, Chris.CByrneIV wrote:In all seriousness, I can't think of a single actor who could pull it off.
They'd need someone smart, funny, intense but laid back, and FUCKING GIGANTIC; in both personality and physical form.
I will say that I think Keving smith would do a passable version of JohnOC, and Sam Elliot is a fair stand in for Rod.

I didn't have a clue about this, but The Boss says Sam Neill is the only logical choice.

Pre-beard and 35 pounds ago (about 10 years) I was often told I could be a stand-in for Christian Slater. Now? Hollyweird does not employ actors ugly enough to play me...I have a face for radio and a voice for the printed word.

Ever seen Drew Carey without the nerd frames and with a goatee? I think he's a little closer.CByrneIV wrote:As it is today, the closest I can think of at the moment would be James Gandolfini; but he's 10 years too old.

I'd have to be CGIed in. Someone's got to be the smack-talking robot buddy who gets in over his head.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."
