The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Troy Diamond Sight

Post by Darrell »

Interesting new rear sight for ARs from Troy--instead of a round aperture, it's a diamond shape. Troy claims faster target acquisition than with a round aperture. Found at the Firearms Blog:

Wow. That looks really nice.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

The principle seems sound. The Steyr M9 and M40 pistols have trapezoidal sights and they work very well. I find I can align those sights better and more quickly than any other kind of handgun sight.

We had the guy who thought up that trapezoidal sight as a visitor to the old forums a couple of years ago.
