Just spoke with a neighbor who travels a lot. He is retired, but they keep calling him on a regular basis and sending him across country to "work." I think he is retired from Honeywell.
Anyway, he stopped me at my fence as he was driving by and asked if I had heard anything about an "attack" on the Southwest? He says that Homeland Security has notified Phoenix hospitals to be "prepared" between now and the 1st of november.
Any thoughts?
9/11 is only 2 weeks away. Is something brewing in conjunction with Patriot's day?

Using my liberal Democrat decoder ring I find that this means: "OH GOD, OH GOD, WE'RE ALL GUNNA' DIE!"Napolitano says country safer than ever

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday that the federal government is more prepared than ever to respond to a Hurricane Katrina-like disaster and that the county is safer than ever against foreign terrorist attack." (Courier Journal)

Some more interesting stuff:
If not "Al Qaida", then who could she possibly mean?"...said an issue receiving ever more attention by her agency is the threat of domestic terrorism. She added that the department is also focused on potential threats to the private sector, such as cyber-terrorism.
Napolitano said that while the threat of a terrorist attack “remains with us” it doesn't come solely from Al Qaida and that the “methods” of possible attack are varied.
Wait! You don't think she could be talking about...{dramatic pause} "Right Wing Radicals"?!
If time, chance and random process can produce a platypus why not an ammo tree?

Might be worth a visit to your neighbors house to get clarification on his statement?
As far as JN goes, yes.

I agree about the neighbor. If J-No DOES ever read this, I hope she's lying awake at night worrying - it just might help keep her within her proper bounds.Ben Rumson wrote:Might be worth a visit to your neighbors house to get clarification on his statement?

The fact is that no American need fear anyone here - we're no threat to anyone's Liberty.
You know, there used to be a bumper-sticker that said "fear the Government that fears your guns." The reality - the more I think about it - is that the Government that fears my guns will stay within its proper bounds. It's the one that DOESN'T fear its people that we need to worry about - which is why our Founders created that 2nd Safety Valve for us.
Like many here, I've sworn a solemn oath to support and defend my Constitution, but also promised not to countenance disloyalty or rebellion, and to patiently submit to lawful authority.
So long as the authority is lawful, I will do so, as will anyone I would care to associate with.
No Patriot would ever dream of threatening his proper and Lawful Government - ergo no such Government need fear "right wing" people like me and mine.
If they DO fear people like me, they need to take a long, hard look at THEMSELVES and ask why that would be. The simple cure for such fear is an honest self-examination - and to follow their oath of office...

The implication was an actual invasion from across the border. I don't know anything more than that, but it raised his perception of something afoot.Ben Rumson wrote:Might be worth a visit to your neighbors house to get clarification on his statement?

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Re: What is Up?
I have not heard anything about this and rumors of stuff like this have been rampant since the election. Unless we can get this from a credible source or otherwise verify it all it really is is another post election rumor. It's up there with the likes of the IRS imposing a $50 tax per gun someone owns or that all gun owners are going to be put in internment camps.
