for me (when I used to write) the best thing to break the block was sketching out the storyline instead. Sometimes that would create its own inspiration. Or just do something else and let my brain rest.

Question, what airlift does MHI have? Just the Hind or did the book mention other aircraft? I don't have the book with me to look for it. Would a C-130 be unrealistic or is there a Russian C-130 like aircraft they would more likely have?

All the book mentions is an old mail plane.

I'm guessing something like a DC-9, but there wasn't enough of a description to verify that. More likely than an AN-12 CUB ("C-130ski"). Lots of surplus airliners, mail planes, cargo carriers etc from Boeing, MacDac, etc available in the US without taking on the liability of trying to maintain a Soviet built airframe on this side of the pond.

The HIND would be realistic as Uncle Sugar ain't given to surplussing his Cobras and Apaches to the used market, whereas in the former Soviet Union, all you need is cash in the right hands, so probably the best bet to get an attack chopper (especially one with troop carrying capability)

I've been holding off on reading this thread until I finished MHI on my recent business trip.

I'm a liking it. Keep it coming as you are able.

If you decide you need a few Red Shirts, count me in, but a .40S&W BHP is as much as I'm willing to compromise, even for the undead!

There's at least 1 company in Eastern Europe that's taking HIND-D, and updating them with Western engines, Avionics and Weapons.

It's a HIND in the Baen edition.

Well I think MHI needs a C-130, because they are freaking cool. I also figure with all the cash they scored on the "finale" in the book they could afford a new ride.

In the 2nd part of chapter 8 I made an important change. Having marty sleep in the Cafeteria is dumb. So I moved him to the "Fortified concrete room in the basement." If you have read the book you should know what I mean, if not! Go read the book before you read my stuff! That's an order!

I am working on chapter 9 I should have it posted Sunday or Monday.
