I LOVE IT!!!
Little is known about Goff's background or the unidentified man who beat him so hard that the wood stock of the rifle broke.
Then later in the article:
They were forced to strip off their clothes and told to perform sexual acts when the male victim, described as a physically fit member of the military in his mid-30s, wrestled the gun away.

"He beat him until the stock broke over his head and then continued to beat him until he thought he had him incapacitated," Pullen said.
I'd say the suspect is lucky to be alive, and the only reason he is probably was due to the guy's girlfriend being there.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

I'd say you are right. I don't care how close to death, dismemberment or what used to be called "a fate worse than death" the woman was; to see her consort erupt with such violence even in a good cause is dismaying, and even the restrained version she saw in this case may cause her to rethink whether she wants to continue a relationship with someone who can retrieve such violence out of himself, even if it is in what should be to her a worthy cause.

It is a shame, though, that Goff's side of the story can be told by him and not only by his erstwhile victims and the forensic people.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

I'm not sure that is true in all cases. Without going into a lot of detail, my girlfriend, who later became the wifey, saw me beat someone badly enough to kill him. Only reason that sh*t for brains is alive was timely emergency aid from yours truly.

That was a very sudden act on my part. From slightly worried and tense, but reasonably calm and assured of safety to ultra-violent in an eye blink. That situation simply did not allow for a 'run up' to violence.

The wifey was certainly suprised by the whole thing, but it certainly never seemed to bother her. If anything, after she calmed down and understood what had happened, she seemed more turned on than anything else.
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom,...Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you...; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

I disagree. Only a person with an infantile level "all violence is bad" understanding of violence would feel that way. Either that or there's a pre-existing lack of trust.

Being able to respond with suitable violence should the need present itself is part of the reason I exist, and my wife knows it.

In which case we don't wish they all could be California girls.

All my honeys including my current one either understood or would understand. Miss G&T likes that I can protect her, of course she might kill the bastard herself...

As Kevin over at the Smallest Minority puts it; It's about understanding the difference between "Violent But Protective" and "Violent And Predatory".
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
