"Nips" Roesgen out at CNN.

Post by Cybrludite »

CNN decided not to renew the contract of the "reporter" who was seen getting in the faces of Tea Party protesters on April 15th.

Every once in a while, I see some small glimmer of hope. This is small, but it is a glimmer.

I've seen some call it "cosmic justice" but -- to me, that would be if she tripped, fell into a tar-bucket and then jumped out into a pile of feathers.

Still, I guess this will do...

This is in all likelihood a coincidence. there is very little likelihood of her getting fired for bashing conservatives.

Some call it cosmic justice, much more likely that it is cosmetic justice.

Well, she did two mistakes:
1. She was way too blatant about it. She got in the demonstrators face and basically called them idiots to their face rather than using a more subtle approach, referring to them as "misguided", "operatives" or just ridiculing them and calling their protest "teabagging".
2. She's simply not big enough of a name to get away with blatant bias.

Had she been a little bit more subtle, or been a bigger name and an anchor, she'd probably gotten away with it.

I remember this vapid tart anchoring on one of the New Orleans stations for a while.

And a slight "costume malfunction" on her part(s) while covering Mardi Gras in the Quarter lead to Walton & Johnson giving her the nickname I used in the title.

I was deployed when that happened IIRC. Since you brought it up, I kinda miss W&J (Bob and Tom are pretty much the only thing left in MI). My only problem was when they used to bash other radio shows for being egotistic, then launch into a ego-driven tirade about how much more wonderful they were.

Other than that, I miss their show terribly.

We get them now via syndication. They've gotten political at the expense of Teh Funny. I kinda rank them as a rare right-wing example of "Shut Up & Sing" now. :jacked:
