I'm currently trying to find a pair of lighter hiking boots that are comfortable, and thought I'd see if I can find another brand this time. Never heard of Danner before, not sure if they are even available here, but I'll start looking for them.
Danner has two levels of boot, too. One made in China, the other in the US. I'd recommend you stick with those made in the US. If you can't find them over there, you can find them online pretty easily.

Erik, I think our feet must be related. I had trouble finding comfortable boots until I bought a pair of Meindls about ten years ago. I have bought nothing else since (I'm on my third pair now, two of the three still being in service). I'm wearing a pair of Meindl half-boots as I type this, and the full-boots with thermal lining have served me well for hunting in rain, slush and snow. Recommended.
