Trying to find MRE's

Post by moose42 »

Does anyone on the forum know where I can score MRE's with heaters?

I found a few places using my GoogleFu, but does anyone have experience with any of these companies? Thanks.

Sportsmans guide has them. Looks like the meals and heaters are separate, though:

Typically each MRE contains a heating unit inside; impossible to remove without breaking the seal.

Never mind then. I don't know how they typically are packaged, but their reputation is such that they would probably pull them out and sell separately if they could.

Then I'd buy the heaters and MREs from separate companies, just to make sure they didn't open the seal.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Those are not real MRE's, you can't those anymore. Those are quasi MRE whatever's with a genuine MRE heater for sale.

like has been stated real MREs have the water activated heater sealed inside of the package and it is impossible to have the meal and heater separate with out having the seal on the meal broken.

MRE Depot has the closest thing to real MREs in the form of the "Menu C" MREs. Originally, they were overruns on a contract for Blackwater, but are now being produced directly for MRE Depot. Main difference is in some small details on the packaging, and some of the side dishes are labeled as being from HDRs. They currently have a deal where you get free shipping on an order of two cases.
