Dude ask the tree huggers and enviro weenies and burning anything gives off toxic byproducts. Unless of course you're talking about burning our food (ethanol)...that's acceptable toxic byproducts. And by the by...I was just bustin' your chops...Greg wrote: No, toxic byproducts. Like how burning certain plastics gives you dioxin. Delicious.

But I burn more of my little firestarters in my upstairs bathroom than anywhere else, so I'm a little sensitive to the idea of burning any kind of synthetic. I really do wind up breathing that stuff, and anyone who likes to get as close to the fire as me would have the same problem.
BTW, my little pucks work with those little Esbit stoves.

I shed too much to use my dryer lint. Burnt hair stinks...

My dryer lint is approx. 90% cat hair... I don't even want to try a fire starter made out of that!Cybrludite wrote:I shed too much to use my dryer lint. Burnt hair stinks...

My generic lint must be 90% dog hair. Yeah, it STINKS when lit. Now I only use lint from bath towels stored in a hamper in a bathroom the dogs can't get into.My dryer lint is approx. 90% cat hair... I don't even want to try a fire starter made out of that!

Steel wool. 9 volt battery. Ziplock bag or plastic box to contain the battery. Trust me!
I never set myself on fire, but I once had a run-down 9-volt that I put in my pocket. My keys got across it and it got rather warm.

OK, Chris, dish! How do you make them that way? I had to look up the word.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.
