Well now what?

Post by Jericho941 »

So, the good news is, I'm gonna get to go to live in England for a few years.

The bad news: I have to live in England for a few years.

So while I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SHOOT THINGS NOW? :o

I think you are allowed to shoot black powder weapons. And air guns. You have to research the laws and find out just what your options are.

I'm sure Denis will chime in here, but he shown there is shooting goodness to be had in Belgium and Germany, which aren't major trips, by US standards at least.

Randy hit the nail on the proverbial.

Methinks you will be applying for a Belgian non-resident firearms permit, storing your shootin' irons with me or at the gunshop, and taking the train for regular boomage and decent food!

Easier than messing around with black powder, anyway :-)

Lakenheath. Probably for the F-15Es.

I fully intend to get out and about when I'm there. My recruiter told me about his time in England. Said that the only people who didn't like it were the ones who never left the base and complained about there being nothing on TV.

Blasphemy! The Young Ones? Father Ted? Ab Fab? The original Men Behaving Badly? Red Dwarf? Fawlty Towers? Black Adder? Monty Python???

And that's just not leaving the idiot box. The travel opportunities will be outstanding. On a 96'er I would imagine you could get to just about anywhere you wanted to go to, including across the channel.

The Brits possess an incredibly singular, dry, witty sense of humor that I never encountered anywhere else in my travels. You should have an outstanding time. On a similar note, a family friend just got orders to do his clinicals (Hospital Corpsman) in Okinawa.
