Perhaps this series of novels was mentioned in a book thread in the old forum, but if not, take a look.

Edward Cline is a writer influenced by Ayn Rand, and that "sense of life" writing is evident in his novels. Years ago, I had read and enjoyed his mystery First Prize.
More recently, he has turned out the 6-book "Sparrowhawk" series, starting in the 1740's in England, and taking us through the end of the Revolutionary War. I just finished the first book and am putting in orders for all the rest. (Good luck finding them at a bookstore or library--they seem to have more of a "word-of-mouth" following.)
If the idea of historical novels of the American Revolution written by an objectivist-oriented writer sounds interesting, do give Sparrowhawk a try.
