I am pretty amazed how fast that went. I actually finished the book Sunday!

I may have to read it again, but I really don't think I missed anything. I even re-read some of the speaches to make sure I understood what they were saying. I needed a dictionary for Galt's speech though, and I didn't think it would end!
All in all a good book, even though I didn't care much for the Trist stuff, and didn't agree with the Anti-Christian stuff. Everything else I loved, plenty of plot twists and a good writing style. I saw through some of it, like who Eddie was always talking to in the restuarant. WTF happens to Eddie at the end anyway?
Well now I know who is John Galt, but I think I need a break from reading for a month or two.

So what's next, Orwell's 1984? Book then movie I assume? Or perhaps I should read something else like some Hemingway?

Opinions are welcome!

1984 is not that long, so probably a good next one. I just re-read it a couple of months ago in the course of a weekend afternoon.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

I realize you've probably already read them, but Common Sense and the Rights of Man are pretty well required -- and surprisingly easy to read. This is also an excellent book.

1984 is a good choice. I'm a bit divided about it myself. Hard to describe, but I think I didn't like it as a "novel" novel, but the content and the theme of it is good. As an added plus, lots of leftists here used to love to reference it, but I dont think anyone ever read it. Then again, I dont think they ever read anything that didn't have pictures and required them to turn a page.

Animal farm is also a good choice, it's more of satiric comedy and maybe not intellectual, but I think it's something that should be read, just like Heinleins books.

Oh, and I have Atlas Shrugged on my nightstand, still havent started it...

Democracy In America was one I enjoyed though I didn't expect to. There's always Catch 22 if you're looking for humor :)
