I quit cigarettes 2+ years ago, but for years I ordered from a reservation. 1/3 the price of retail in Chicago.

I still smoke 1 or 2 pipes a day, and a couple cigars a month (I don't inhale, so even my doctors don't think it's a problem). Friend/Wife is nearing the verge of quitting.

But I'm so G-d damned tired of .gov directing my life I could f**king SCREAM!!!

In Illinois they banned smoking in all public buildings, including restaurants and saloons. Sorry, tobacco smoke, even since I quit, is part of the ambiance of a saloon. Saloons aren't supposed to smell like Lysol.

I used to eat lunch in saloons perhaps 3 days a week. Dinner once or twice a week. Cocktails, 3-5 times a week. Now I visit saloons perhaps once a month.

Wonder the loss in sales and taxes ...

You guys kill me.

Complaining about 5 bucks a pack? HA! It was almost 9/pack here BEFORE this nonsense went through.

And there was already cigarrette smuggling here. A coupla smugglers have been caught, and guess what? They were using the proceeds to fund Hamas: Linky

I knew it was bad when Evanston's stop-n-robs were charging $7 a pack. This is getting really ridiculous. I'm glad that I quit when I did.

Maybe homebrewing beer will become popular again, like in the late 80s-early 90s.

Yeah, and we all know how well criminalizing Chronic, worked out, hunh?

And the popularity nationally of homebrewing has never waned. In fact, it's really exploded since the internet came along, because now you can actually get help from other brewers..

Beer is too fiddly and touchy for me to work up interest in homebrewing, but I am starting my first batch of wine (Montepulciano) during this spring.

I'd be more interested in making my own moonshine - home brewed Everclear!

That's still a nono, unfortunately. :(

Used beerkegs, with some modifications, make excellent reflux stills.
