Well, it's that time of year again folks.
Passover begins on April 9th, so it will soon be upon us.
For the new guys here on the forum, I'm the guy who reminds people of this. Now I know what you're thinking. "I'm not Jewish, so why the hell do I care when Passover is?"
The answer is that on Passover we Jews don't eat corn (one of the grains that we avoid for the 8 day holiday). Therefore Kosher for Passover Coke products have no high fructose corn syrup in them.
They are actually made with real sugar, just like in the good old days. You might say it's "Coke Classic-Classic."
Look for the coke bottles with the yellow caps. The regular capped ones still have HFCS. The yellow capped ones are made with proper sugar.
No go forth and enjoy a good soda the way it was meant to be made!

On a related note, the local Sam's Club has started carrying cases of Mexican Coca-Cola. It's likewise made with sugar instead of HFCS, and is bottled in 12 oz glass coke bottles.

I've been picking up cases of it from COSTCO as well...though it is rather spendy.ButchS1066 wrote:On a related note, the local Sam's Club has started carrying cases of Mexican Coca-Cola. It's likewise made with sugar instead of HFCS, and is bottled in 12 oz glass coke bottles.

Not bad considering thefact that it's made with sugar, and packaged in glass bottles which cost more to handle.
The kosher for passover coke is selling my local supermarket for $1.35 for a 2 liter bottle.

Hmm. I'm not a Coke fan, but I'm going to check if the local Jewish supermarket has kosher for Passover Coke, just to see if I can taste a difference. I'm out of matsos, anyway.

Yep, it's that time of year again, thank goodness. I miss having cane sugar in my non-diet sodas.
Now, if we could just repurpose all that corn meant to be made into sugar to something more noble, like ethanol for the gas stations within the same county where the corn was grown, stove fuel, tortillas to sell in Mexico, or perhaps a lot of sour mash...

Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

Gas station across the street sells Mexi-Coke for $1.25 a bottle individually. Thank you for yet another year of the reminder, Ben. Let the yellow-cap watch commence!
