Mine don't have butt pads, but McCormicks are one of my magazines of choice for my 1911. I've heard nothing but good about them, a rare thing on the intartubes.

Nearly all of my extra (purchased after the firearm) magazines are McCormicks, .45ACP and 10mm. They work great. The only problem I've ever had is with a couple of them not holding the bolt back on the last shot in the Marlin M45.

I have had a couple go bad, due to having plastic components more than anything else. They work great, but the ones with plastic don't get solvent on them, if they get dirty they stick, and look out for cracking and chipping. The all metal ones run like champs.

Plastic and anything 1911 is an automatic fail in my book.
