By the rising of the moon, by the rising of the moon, a thousand pikes were flashing by the rising of the moon...

My Grandmother used to wear Orange on St. Patricks day.
In Flatbush.
In the 40s and 50s.

I, for one, am not Scottish, and I am never stupidly offensive. As one of two representatives of the house of Cromwell present at this forum, I have a duty whether I like it or not. So, for me the orange shirt really isn't going beyond the Pale, so to speak. And yeah, my ancestor was a douche; sorry about all the trouble he caused y'all....

When, people stop using St. Patricks day as an ersatz one day Mardi Gras, I'll start caring about socioreligious differences, and their representation.

I've got my green on today. It happens to be my Stabby McKnife t-shirt from Threadless.com with his tagline of "Hey kids! Put me in your enemies!" It seems appropriate today as a salute to my grandmother's Irish ancestors, sent to the US in the late 1850s to keep from picking fights with the rest of the family.

Could be worse. The Scots side of my dad's family claims to be decended from the grandson of Attila the Hun. Well, it does explain my debating style...
