Dealing With anxiety
So in roughly 1.5 hours I begin an exam which will determine if I move from a graduate student to a Ph.D. canidate, or get my ass kicked out on the street. So question is, and I should have asked this earlier, how do ya'll deal with anxiety?

Re: Dealing With anxiety
I tell myself that I'm not worried or anxious at all, and even if I am, I decide to fake confidence as well as I can so noone else can tell I am.
I know it sounds strange, and I have no idea why, but this very primitive form of self hypnosis seems to work for me. YMMV, and probably does.
I saw an interview once with a olympic bow shooter that said that he saw his nerves as a glass of water. Once it's filled to the size limit, anything else you add to it simply wash away, you can never fill it more than the decided limit...

What Erik said.
I used to perform music in public at a high level - you need a certain amount of "excitement" so that you perform at your best - the adrenaline gives you a boost. You must decide that you are excited, not anxious, and that you allow enough excitement register to let you perform at your best, but no more.
Success! Break a leg.

Oh, is that all...It is the Role of VEGF-164b as an anti-inflammatory molecule in Ulcerative Colitis.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.
