Kidding aside, the mentioning of bears and tactical carts reminded me of a motivational speech I heard by an adventurer that have walked to both poles. He mentions that while preparing for the big trip, he wanted to make a shorter glacial trip as prepration. I dont remember the place he chose, I believe it was Svalbard or possibly Faroe Islands.

When he started out on this, he was more or less a city boy, with limited knowledge of wildlife and rugged terrain. (thus the reason for preparation trips) So when he stepped off the plane, he got a copy of the local paper, which mentions the attack of a polar bear on a local girl just a few days ago. Then when he is taking a walk from the hotel he's staying at, he sees a woman coming with a stroller, and when she gets closer he sees a AK47 mounted on top. He said the prospect of walking across the island alone and unarmed didn't seem as quite that good of an idea anymore.
