Chris,
What happened to Kimber? Is he in doggy heaven?
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Sadly, we don't have a dog.

Ever notice, though, how humans look like their doggy owners?

Frank is a 70# pit bull (maybe a mix). Harry is his favorite cat.

Jack the Labradork. He's the biggest purebred Lab I've ever seen in person. He weighs 130# and he's not fat. Loves everyone, especially kids. Unfortunately, he doesn't realize how big he is and often inadvertently knocks the little ones on their kiesters.

Sam the Pointer/Mutt. Rescued from the pound. He lived on the street for over a year before anyone could catch him. Hated other dogs when I got him. In fact, the first time I brought him to the leash-free dog park, he picked a fight with two pit bull brothers. Thankfully they were nice dogs and didn't rip him apart. It took a while to socialize him with other dogs, now he loves everyone and everything. Fast as lightning and a natural pointer. I may try him in the field someday soon.

This is Roscoe, senior of the Rancho Imperfecto K-9 Corps. He's a part-pit foundling, about 14 years old. Loves kids, gets along with other dogs, and tolerates only those cats in the house. The ones outside, not so much
roscoe.jpg
This is Blue, another foundling. Her mother was a mutt, and her father was from a good neighborhood. She's the exterior audible alarm, and the only dog that will actually play with the horses.

And this is Abby. She's not a real dog, but she thinks she is. We almost lost her one night when I let her outside just before bedtime, and she charged across the yard after a coyote.

Bosco the baritone talking dog, mailman licker and cat groomer. Not much of a barker but if you get to groaning and moaning he'll have quite a conversation with you.

He must have imprinted on a cat as a pup -- both our cats come around and he grooms them good. Licks their ears and (ahem) all...

Over 11 yrs old now and has gone almost completely blind this past year. What with that and an arthritic front knee his field days are done.

Which reminds me, I made the mistake of seeing "Marley and Me." Dang dusty theatres. Stuff in my eyes.
