I just got back from work.
You guys are truly too much.

The hand was actually the best today that it has been since my goof-up.
Thanks for the words, and funny stories of self-inflicted injury. I'm just glad I didn't preface my stunt with "Hey y'all, watch this!!"

Next time try an icepick, a cutting board, and keeping your hand out of the way.

Or, you could do the proper thing, and handmake your burgers from fresh ground beef. They'll taste better than those frozen pre-made patties, for sure.

Damn Drone 7, you sound a lot like me. I recemember dropping an M-85 on my foot at Fort Hood in 74, broke the big toe. Being in armor and cav for 14 years, I've got scars in places you wouldn't believe.

Was there from '72 to '76, 2nd AD, 1/67 and 2/66 Armor. I was on the field test of the M60A2, commonly known to those who knew and "loved" them as "that piece of shit hunk of iron that should be targeted by the nearest REAL tank".

Actually, that's what I do. these were at the GF's house, and I was hungry so I was going for the quick and lazy food. I've never ever in my life made a pre-made frozen burger patty.

Well, boychik, when you set out to do something you certainly do it right.

I have numerous cuts over my hands from handling knives and carelessness with machinery but never to the extent you did yours.

Like HTRN said, it the GFs fault for distracting you with her beauty and sheer presence!

Ahhhhhh.

pause...

You did mean the burgers, didn't you?

GF is cool under pressure. Excellent.
Can she cook (burgers)? Maybe that would be safer.

Huh. I'd have loosened them up with a hammer first, if only to express my displeasure at the burgers' insistence to be stuck together, frozen, and not residing in my stomach.

Of course, I'd like to loosen up some of my callers with a hammer, too, just not for the above reasons.

I think this is one of the instances of where a tanto blade is useful.

stabbing your own hand?

Heh. If I'd have used a tanto, it would have gone striaght through. It already did near enough. I had a very dark bruise on the back of my hand where the knife had gone through the muscle and left blood just under the skin.

Meanwhile, I thought I'd post the pic of the wound a week after the injury.

I took this picture tonight.

Muuuuch better. There is still swelling, right near the wound, and up to that first big wrinkle in the palm (the one that curves in toward the thumb). But apart from that the swelling is waaaaayyyy down, mobility is up, I can type with both hands. It's tough to button up shirt cuffs, and pants with left hand very well, but at least I CAN.
The stitches come out tomorrow afternoon. I just need to ask the doc about the swelling that is still there. ie. does it need to get drained? will it go away eventually? do i need PT? etc...
