Re: Bad cops and riots in Minn
I read at least two stories about piles of bricks and caches of "bottles of accelerant" placed to be ready for rioters in Baltimore. Much to my surprise, the Maryland Governor had a news conference and noted that protesters were turning in agitators to the police. I expected much worse in Baltimore, hopefully folks there are starting to get a clue.

There has been at least one arrest and charge related to that (guy from Chicago handing out Molotov cocktails and such in Minn.) I understand there is a wider investigation ongoing.Odahi wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 12:15 pm I read at least two stories about piles of bricks and caches of "bottles of accelerant" placed to be ready for rioters in Baltimore. The point being, the scale may be larger or smaller than what some stories suggest, but there is definitely something there.

Sister-in-Law sent video of guy in Riverside, CA (where she lives, we were married) jumping out of his car during protest to set a molotov cocktail in the middle of road/crowd. A protester snatched it up and tossed back into the guy's car with him. Then as the bomb throwing driver ran away from car as it burst into flames, protesters gave him a beat down.

And my evil continues. I just got the FB-meme-posting friend's husband to finally openly admit to being a closeted member of the gun culture.Greg wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 4:08 pm So I've got a friend on FB posting memes comparing the current rioters with the original Boston Tea Party. Yeah that's a thing. (!)
My reply was kind of mean. I was like, not sure I accept the analogy but I'll concede it. But in that case what is the oppressive regime that merits removal at any cost? That would be the Democratic Party. And I laid out why.
Wondering when the unfriendening will occur.

To answer what I think is your question:Precision wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 9:32 pm is the black background different than the blue one?

The Special Forces tab always goes with the arrowhead patch (at least I've never seen one worn without the other). The full color tab is gold lettering on a blue background to match the arrowhead.
The Airborne tab is worn by units that are officially designated as having an Airborne (i.e. parachute) mission, such as Special Forces groups, 82nd Airborne, etc. The gold on black is the standard for all full color airborne tabs. It's basically a unit designation having nothing to do with whether you are jump qualified.
Again, I've never seen an SF patch/tab without an Airborne tab.
The full color tabs are usually worn on Class A/ Service uniforms (or whatever they call them these days).
All these tabs have subdued versions (black on OD green or brown on tan) when worn on field uniforms.
And since we are talking about SF units, there are probably exceptions to all of these worn at some place at some time, just because they can and don't care what the Legs think.

The Airborne tab for the 82nd is white letters on blue, as was the 11th Airborne Division. 17th Airborne was gold on black. 173rd Airborne Brigade is white on blue.randy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:08 am The Airborne tab is worn by units that are officially designated as having an Airborne (i.e. parachute) mission, such as Special Forces groups, 82nd Airborne, etc. The gold on black is the standard for all full color airborne tabs. The airborne segments on the Infantry School - jump school and Ranger Training Brigade - use white on blue.
The Ranger Regiment doesn't wear an airborne tab at all.
LRS units are airborne, but I don't know if they wear (wore - I'm not sure any of them still exist) airborne tabs.
