Pulling for you Odahi. Kick It's Ass!
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Thank you, guys. I truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I had a talk with my oncologist yesterday. He says the 5-year survivability is about 66%. My underlying health is good, hell, I've just had CT scans from my neck to my knees, and there's no sign of metastasis. I'm also in basically good underlying health, and all my blood work for the last couple of years is sitting right in the middle of acceptable ranges. I won't go into more detail, except to say that things are going well so far, better than I expected. Support from all quarters is a blessing, and especially from people I respect and admire (present company definitely included). Thank you all again, and my new mantra: Be safe, be healthy, be happy!

Latest buying craze: Baby chickens
I hope the folks "panic buying" them have enough sq ft to properly raise them. And I would love to be "a fly on the wall" when some folks, never having dressed chickens, slaughter one for the first time......

That's going to leave a mark. More like a splatter.

You can make a decent kill cone from a orange safety cone...

Re: How's your bug in going?
I've slaughtered chickens in a kill cone. Kinda messy.
One year, my young daughter came home from a white elephant party with a chicken. We live in town. No fence. I immediately named him Stewie. I googled easy ways to kill a chicken, not having a kill cone handy. My daughter isn't squeamish, so we tried the recommended, "hold him upside down by his feet while someone else knocks his head off with a bat" method. She tried, but she's no Babe Ruth. I ended up just holding him under my arm and breaking his neck. Probably should have started with that.
He was delicious.

I like to grab the head and spin the neck and body for a quickie. I like the idea of a safety cone though....
