ok, i am looking for something that i can wear both to keep me warm and to shoot...

prefer something that doesnt scream "mall ninja" when i wear them to work or school...

I wear AF Issue type NOMEX Flight Gloves, not only for shooting but as daily wear. I have the standard Sage Green color, but they come in black and tan was well.

Work well to keep my hands warm in most weather, thin enough for good tactile feel of a handgun and manipulation of controls, not too bulky inside of the trigger guard. Leather sections give a good grip on firearms and for driving. If it gets too cold I use them as liners old style mil-issue black leather glove shells.

I still have my original issued ones, but after 20 years of use their my spare pair in the vehicle and I bought a nice looking pair a few years back.

Can find them at most Mil-Surp stores and online at places like Brigade Quartermasters and US Cavalry.

I go for a two tier solution, brown jersey gloves at about a buck a pair for most cool to cold weather use, for serious(er) cold a pair of 10 buck leatherlike insulated gloves from the local wallyword, kmart, tarjhey, and if it's too cold for those, stay inside. Or you could hit the local surplus store and see if they've got the zone 6 trigger finger mittens and inserts. I have long fingers and frankly the best fitting gloves I've had are my current $10 wal-mart specials. And they're cheap enough I don't have any problem tossing and replacing at need.

Frankly though, any glove insulated enough for the cold to be worth wearing is going to compromise trigger feel. practice, practice, practice. Oh yeah, and new brown jersey gloves are going to be slippery, ymmv.

I can't find them on the Home Depot website. But I bought my workers a bunch of $10 work gloves. Sort of like the Mechanix ones.

They are pretty warm and give good "feel". So far they have lasted 2 months being used almost every day. And they aren't "tactical" looking at all.
