No such luck. My business partner lived in Dalkey, and his local was the queens. Mr. Hewson was there frequently at the time (maybe he still is, dunno) as was Andrea Corr, her ever pretentious sister, Enya, Eddie Jordan, and a bunch of other famous asses.

Eddie was an interesting one. He nearly ran me down in his Aston Martin more than once up the Glenageary roundabout. Death in a motor; but he was a nice guy when he was down for a pint.

This was my house at the time (the semi-d in the dead center of the mapwith the big back garden that backed onto the churchyard). I had to leave Ireland quickly to come back to be with my mother (we thought she was dying at the time), and got screwed out of 30,000 euro on the sale by an unscrupulous estate agent... but I repeat myself.

The thing about Irish celebrities, is they like the pubs just as much as everyone else.

There is a high proportion of celebrities (both Irish and foreign) around Dublin, so bumping into them isn't unusual, particularly if you happen to like the "right" venues. One of the reasons celebrities like to live in Dublin is that they don't get treated as celebrities; no self-respecting Dubliner would make a show of himself by (a) fussing over or (b) intruding upon someone, just because they happen to be famous.
