I love my Kimber 1911. Thousands of rounds through it and never a bobble. The only thing I did to it was to take that damned full-length guide rod out and replace it with a GI length. Mine is the full-size pistol. I understand that they had some problems with geometry in the compact 1911s, but my full-size was my go-to gun four about eight years of duty carry, IPSC, backyard shooting contests, etc. Never a bit of trouble with it.

If I was in the market for a J-frame carry gun, I might look at the revolver, but I've already got my J-frame carry guns. I hope they sell a boatload of them.

Now, if Kimber would come out with a true copy of the Colt Model P, I might be very interested.

Hey, all my Kimbers run great, and all my shooting buddies that own Kimbers love theirs. I've got two full-size with over 8K rounds through each of them, and a Commander-size, aluminum framed 1911 with nearly 6K through it. (Which reminds me, it's time to change the recoil spring in that one.)

Well I have a custom shop model, which was a complete POS, that when I took it to the smith, as I wasn't wasting my time firing 500 rounds, manually chambering each round, the only parts of the gun which were useable were the slide, sights, and frame. Everything else was garbage and completely mis-assembled. He might have been able to refit the grip safety.

Im hardly the only victim of their abysmal CS and terrible production values.

The Kimber Solo is a great design, also hamstrung by that.

The only good part about their revolver, is if it's as screwed up as they often make things, they won't even turn, so their QC, as bad as it is, may catch that.

Not about Kimber, in particular, but revolvers in general: I am noticing a huge upswing in interest in revolvers at the gun club. Lots of new shooters seeing them, wanting to be shown how they work, and getting hooked. I will be bringing two more revolvers to the range this evening for the beginners.

I have one of the last of the revolvers from the last phase when wheelguns were mass-market fashionable, an FN Barracuda. Then we got all the crunchenticker and plastic-fantastic pistols. Maybe the pendulum is finally starting to swing back, and revolvers will be fashionable again. Not that they were ever out of fashion with people in the know...

MSRP is supposedly 899 which means it'll sell for 1500 because it's a Kimber. Looks like a Chiappa Ruger and Wesson.
