I am happy they are losing sponsors.

But you numbers are way off. http://variety.com/2014/tv/news/tv-ad-p ... 201314484/

If the Big Bang Theory and The Walking Dead are pulling in $327K and $413K per 30 seconds, there's no way The View is pulling in even $100K, let alone $1M. I doubt they are even getting close to $50K.

Those are all prime time, they don't talk daytime at all. And if a clever quirky show that is more popular with critics than viewers (Galavant, it's funny but nobody watches it) pulls 70K, something that gets millions of bored women... you know, the ones who make all household spending decisions... is getting a lot more, I wager.

yeah stupid Joy and The View but still.. /meh/

3 sisters. 3 nurses. 1 still at it at 60 as a hospice nurse so I know 'em and love em.

Still, IMHO nurses rival only teachers in the amount of whining and discontent I see on social media. Meme after meme all a variation on "Poor overworked, underpaid, underappreciated us."

Yeah. So. Get in line. Maybe you'll get a callback for the chorus.

I had to stop and laugh.

I worked for J&J for several years.

Upper management has been trying to curb J&J's runaway success for at least a decade or two now and having some effect, but the underlying strength of the company and its incredible brands.... Even total idiots can't kill it.

I worked in a group that did webhosting and ecommerce across the J&J companies/lines/brands. There were an enormous number. They're part of so-called big pharma, but pharma is like their left big toe- it's a surprisingly small portion of the overall operation.

Over the past year, I've spent enough time in the ER, that I can't really blame them.

I'll take that wager. The View isn't even in the top 5 daytime shows in all categories listed here: http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/the-tal ... 201533340/

It brought in $122M in 2012: http://adage.com/article/media/view-val ... rs/243059/

5 days a week x 50 weeks a year (assuming they take some days off) =250 shows. 122M / 250 = $488,000 per show. At 16 minutes of commercials during an hour long program, that's thirty two 30 second commercials a show, which equals $15,250 a commercial.

You don't know the source, or how they do the accounting. Some dudes say it 'brought in' 122M to ABC. I also know that every movie ever made 'lost money', so I'm a little leery of the accounting on back-end figures. I'd really like to know what people are actually paying. We don't know.

And 'Walking Dead' wasn't priced per 30 second spot, it was priced per 'package' of ad runs across multiple episodes. What exactly the hell does that mean? I don't know, and you don't either. ;)

Audience of what, 3 million in 2012, 2.5 million now, of 20-50 year old women? Even your article says that's valuable. Galavant isn't, and it gets $70k. We'll just have to keep speculating.

Or maybe I'm mistaken. My impression was Galavant started well (something like 7 million total viewers) then tanked.

I did a quick check and it seems the finale spiked to 4 million, and even before that it seems it was drawing 3 million? (Article I read was written in some kind of weird cant, hard to decypher.)

The estimate cost is probably a factor of five off. So $25M. Thats more than enough to get attention. Now if J&J pulls all ads from the network...

The other thing to keep on mind. Its 3 million nurses, but its many millions of women at home who look up to nurses and aspire to be like them, even if they never attempt to. Basically they alienated their whole viewing demographic, by letting thier contempt for their viewing demographic show through. There isnt a way to fix it.

Hey, I'm happy they are losing money no matter how much.
