The bad news is the price on them.
I'm a day late and about the full price short.

Looks like a fair price to me.

Hmm. Not being an afficianado, I don't know, but it might be a fair price. I understand that the Finn MN's are the best of the bunch.
And the days of $79,00 MNs are pretty much behind us.

The bad news for me is I have to wait till probably March of 2016 before I could make a firearm purchase.
The other problem I have with these rifles is that they are collectibles and there is no way to mount optics on them as they are without messing up the collectible value. The Finns tweaked every thing on these including the sights so you don't want to mess with the sights.
The Finns made some scoped sniper rifles based on these, but I think they are still all in the possession of the Finnish Army.

I was able to get two of those. One dated '44 and another dated '45. Both looked brand new.PawPaw wrote:Hmm. Not being an afficianado, I don't know, but it might be a fair price. I understand that the Finn MN's are the best of the bunch.

If I had to buy a Mosin, that's the kind I'd want.

I paid that for one four years ago, and classics picture looks like in better shape than mine.
Those wont last long, and are the best Mosin Nagants made. Now if I could find an M28/30 at that price...

I got a 1970 dated M39 at a gun show years ago. I think I paid $300. It was worth it then, so I think these are pretty good prices.
It's a great shooter. Some day, I'll hand load for it and see what it can really do.

Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

The M-39: meant to kill Soviets effectively and then use their own ammo against them.

I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.
