Nature of the beast. People get bored with a site and migrate elsewhere. Some folks end up having actual lives outside the board.
one can be a Democrat, or one can choose to be an American.
Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

Go start a topic and derive some click bait.

I'm still recovering from my surgery & I've gotten really tired of one-handed typing. I'm not in the mood to deal with something like Dragon Naturally Speaking and all the corrections needed.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I lurk here every so often, but don't feel the need to comment for a couple of reasons...

- Been away from the US now longer than I was there.

- The whole 'Chris Thing' left a baaad taste in my mouth.

- This forum turned into a bandstand for about two members.

Cheers all- Rusty

I like you guys more than parts of my own family. But I still would like to generate some more membership in order to further pass on our knowledge while gaining more for ourselves. I don't want to see this forum fade away slowly, though I think that we've lasted much longer than most small forums on the internet.

There is a civility here that I feel is lacking in other gun\freedom related forums. The Indiana Gun Owners forum can quickly degenerate into name calling and other things that would get us warned here in this forum.
Buy ammunition and magazines.

You'll shoot your eye out!

Agreed. It's not just gun related, I've seen truly nasty flame wars on model railroading forums, one of which wound up getting the forum shut down.

It works both ways too, we don't tolerate name-calling and abuse, but venting is pretty much allowed if not directed at someone specific. I belong to a fitness forum where I was warned for bellyaching about someone leaving 100 lb plates on the rack on top of the 25 lb plates, noting that while I can move a 100 lots of people can't. I wasn't even profane about it.

As for what's happening, one person with a huge post count is gone (from what I heard rightfully so), and I suspect he took a number of people with him (that's their choice). Mike, another big poster, is laid up and not posting as much as usual. Lots of us are busy with other stuff during the summer.

The 15-month-old is running now... so I'm mostly restricted to checking the board when I'm eating a sandwich at my desk at work. Summer does slow forums somewhat, similar thing happens every year on the main motorcycle forum I'm on. Nicer weather means I can do more outside, and it also means I have to do more (read: mow the damn lawn). Although if I could get the riding mower running, that particular bit of toil would be cut significantly...

Funny, I'm in the same shape. A broken riding mower and 3 acres to mow. I mostly read and contribute on here through my phone. I forgot that not everybody does that, so their time and access might be more limited.
There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.
