Not entirely sure how it happened, but apparently I am the go-to guy to sell your .45-70 to. I got a call on my way home from my adventures last month in New Mexico. Fella had a Browning High-wall for sale. Seems it had spent the last 30 years or so in the back corner of a safe. Terrible way to treat a fine rifle like that. Finally got together with him on Friday and promised to take it to the range soon. He was pretty adamant on the phone that it was an 1885 High-wall. But his timing was off and the barrel length was too short according to my documentation. Turns out it is a Japanese manufactured Browning 78, probably made in 1975. Metal finish is 100% or as close as possible for the age. There are two stock dings, probably from an altercation in the safe.
Maybe off to the range this week sometime. If not, then it will go with me the following week.
Number two followed me home from the local auction on Saturday. It is a Ruger LC9. Manufactured right here in Prescott in 2011. Almost appears to be unfired. It came with a Galco IWB holster. The holster is an excellent fit for the LC9, but I am not real comfortable wearing it. It has the rough finish in natural coloring. It fits okay for approximately appendix carry, but I sweat something terrible in the summer months and I expect it to literally get soaked. Also the safety rubs against my skin and gets uncomfortable with moving around and sitting.
Looking for recommendations for a comfortable holster for the LC9. I am thinking something with a skin shield would be good.
This one, I may have to fight with the Mrs. to retain control of. We will take it to the range today to function check it out.

Those Browning 78s were nice rifles, although a bit heavy. Never saw one that wouldn't shoot, if you could figure out what it liked, though.
Congrats on that one, anyway!
