I think the primary reason I was allowed to go on flight status in one of my assignments to was to do things like impress upon certain Lt type Ravens that, no, we are NOT going over to look at something you think is cool. We are staying here because the Airborne Mission Supervisor said we are because we are looking at something, that, you know, actually supports our mission tasking for today.

Or to tell certain Radiator Wing types the same thing my NCOIC just told them, but since I had railroad tracks and some sort of wings on, I was a credible source.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Yup.

Frankly, as far as piloting per se goes, the real question is whether or not to have an officer as mission commander...and a civilian at the controls.
