Ok, ante up ladies and gents.
How many, and what did you find to be the easiest way to learn to play it (if there even was an easy way)

Re: What instruments do ya'll play
I've played various clarinets off and on for 14 years, and have been playing bass off and on for about 6. I haven't picked up the clarinets for a couple years, but will probably start practicing those again this winter. I play the bass with a small bit of skill, but am just picking it up again after not really playing for a couple years.

Re: What instruments do ya'll play
I was once a very good euphonium player. I can also play trombone, bass trumpet, baritone, tuba and didgeridoo (which are all similar instruments). I played sousaphone in the college band, because they already had a euphonist. I got reasonably proficient at the clarinet too. I hated playing the piano, and I endured theory of music and composition classes because I had to...
I have the same problem as many (semi-)professional musicians - I can no longer listen (much) to music for relaxation, because my training takes over, and I go into "performance criticism" mode, which takes all the fun out of the exercise...

I sing in the church choir.

I could be a concert performer if I didn't have such a fear of audiences and being somewhat agoraphobic...
I play superbly the air harmonica, banjo, mandolin, violin, piano, guitar, trumpet, sax and drums...
In truth, I couldn't keep a beat if my life depended on it...

I played brass instruments in school band. I would probably pass out if I tried it now.

I can play a radio, CD, or cassette tape.
Honestly, I love good bluegrass guitar, and would love to be able to play it fairly well, but playing any musical instrument requires a sense of rhythm, and at least some musical ability, which are sadly lacking in me. I sing in the church choir ONLY because they have enough voices to drown me out.

Add to this, I can play a truly antique musical instrument called a "Record Player".Rod wrote:+1000First Shirt wrote:I can play a radio, CD, or cassette tape.

And let us not forget the new-fangled MP3! I can now carry a tune everywhere I go. (Several of them actually on my Palm Centro.) And it's the only way I can carry a tuneRumpshot wrote:Add to this, I can play a truly antique musical instrument called a "Record Player".Rod wrote:+1000First Shirt wrote:I can play a radio, CD, or cassette tape.
