This year, give her a gun for Christmas
By Michael Hartwell
With a single week left until Christmas, a lot of us are still scrambling to find a gift for that person who already has everything. Chances are, the person who already has everything has an interest in keeping their stuff safe, and one way to do that is give that special someone in your life a firearm.
A lot of Christmas gifts end up as bothersome clutter, such as goofy trinkets or unread books. A gift certificate is a good sign that you don’t know much about the person, but aren’t quite thoughtless enough to just send cash. But with a gun you can give that person a new hobby, an ongoing lesson in responsibility, peace of mind, and make the world a better place.

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Did so, about 5 years ago.

Both my daughters are getting ARs for Christmas.
I also found the perfect wrapping paper, with an "A Christmas Story" theme.
"You'll shoot yer eye out, kid."
Just a joke, I'm sure. They already know the Four Commandments.

Actually, I'd much rather give (or receive) cash than a gift certificate - cash is redeemable anywhere, for anything, and has no expiry date. The wrong gift cert. can be just as useless as the Christmas jumper that's the wrong size and color. I don't believe giving cash is thoughtless - I certainly think of the toil that went into earning it; and I know that most people have a wish list of things they would love to spend a bit of "mad money" on.A gift certificate is a good sign that you don’t know much about the person, but aren’t quite thoughtless enough to just send cash.

I agree with Denis. I sent my sons checks for Christmas with the 'instructions' that they use it to buy themselves something that they actually want for their Christmas present(s). I know those lads pretty well, so it's not a sign that I don't know much about them.

I don't yet have a "her" so I can selfishly hoard all my guns for myself.

Well, then you can buy one for me. Granted, I won't be your "her," but I will gladly accept any Christmas guns.Jered wrote:I don't swing that way.Dub_James wrote:Doesn't mean you can't buy a Christmas gun for me.Jered wrote:I don't yet have a "her" so I can selfishly hoard all my guns for myself.
