Car burglar gets arm stuck, needs rescuing

SAN DIEGO — A would-be car burglar had to be rescued after getting stuck in a vehicle he was breaking into Thursday night, authorities said.
San Diego County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Union Bank on Palm Avenue near 9th Street just before 8 p.m. after someone called and said a man in the parking lot appeared to be screaming, sheriff's Lt. Anthony Ray said.
Deputies found the man had both arms inside the vehicle and was pinned by the window, Ray said. He was screaming for help.
It appears the man pried the window from the door frame, but the window popped back into place, pinning the man's arms inside the vehicle, Ray said.
Firefighters were called to rescue the 35-year-old man, who was arrested and booked for attempted auto theft. Debbi Baker: (619) 293-1710; debbi.baker@uniontrib.com

Too bad there wasn't an 80 lbs Rottie sleeping in the back seat when he got his arms stuck and then woke the dog up with his screaming. The guys in jail would start calling him "stumpy".

Only 80 lbs? That's just a puppy. They would have to charge the perp with animal cruelty as well. Now, if that had been an adult rottie in the 140-160 lb range, then it would alright.

Let me tell you, an 80 lbs female Rottie can be absolutely vicious, even to the point of forcing much larger male Rotties to behave and/or back off. A Rottie that only has room to bite isn't nearly as dangerous as one who can bite and has room to move (twist, twirl, shake, etc.).

A couple of decades ago a couple went into a store and left the windows down on their pickup. When they came back the driver side door was open and there was a trail of blood leading away. They left the windows down so their English Bulldog wouldn't get too hot. The dog was found inside asleep with blood on his chops.
The goblin was arrested at an emergency room.
