We really like Michigan. We are in the "banana belt" jokingly called because it is in the southern central part of the state which seems to be a little warmer than up north and not so much snow as seems to fall nearer the lakes on either side of the state.
It is a little like a time warp. People are friendly, pretty decent and life is a little slower. I know I'll take a pay cut going there, but it will be worth it (and I'll save money on plane tickets and I won't have to rent a room).

We took a chance and when my wife got a job offer out of California we sold out and moved. I kept my job here because of the money and it is easier to get a job in my field if you have a job.
I heard a radio ad for a new shooting range in Riverside this past weekend and got inspired, drove over only to find out about the new realities. The last time I rented a gun was 20 years ago so this caught be unprepared but I understood the reasons.
It isn't a big deal, just looking for a way to keep the trigger finger in practice and have some fun. I think I'll take motorcycle riding classes instead!
I don't see why this is a problem. I keep hearing California politicians complain about how anyone can buy a Glock in a back alley for $100 no questions asked. Just pick one up, seems like a great bargain.

If you read a news story with the headline "College Professor Found Dead in Alley" it is your fault!
