First off, thank you for your out pouring of concern and offers of lodging.

It has been very dusty here today. Reading your comments made it dusty again, in a good way. Thank you. We are way too new into this to know what we are going to do. But it means a lot to us.

If there is a silver lining in all this, it seems that due to her age, intellectual activity, physical activity... she will likely NOT have a severe degradation due to radiation treatment. She has a tumor IN the center of her brain, without treatment that tumor will kill her within 4-6 months. With radiation, she may buy 12 - 24 months of relative symptom free treatment and the side effects should not be too severe. see age, etc. Our research saw the information based on the average brain cancer patient, but we were not aware that average was a sedentary, 80 year old who was already borderline dementia / alzheimers. That obviously should make a huge difference.

We have a second opinion on Monday and will be further discussing treatment options, treatments vs side effects...

Her eldest son in getting married in February. They moved the date up by 6 months and moved it to our location. So for that reason alone she will be getting some form of radiation. When / if the side effects get too much, she will stop.

Bottom line: No treatment dead in 4-6 months with treatment dead in 16-30 months

She broke the news to two of her kids. I broke the news to one of her kids and we are getting ready to drive over to tell the kid who lived with us through her original breast cancer. It has been a draining day.

I've got nothing but prayers to offer, but they are sent.

Words have been failing me, so I'll borrow these.

Pretty much. Best wishes to y'all! I don't have crash space to offer, but still give me a holler if you visit the Big Sleezy.

I still have my fingers crossed for this one. Keep us posted, and let us know what we can do. Seriously. Don't be stoic and independent. Interdependent is much better.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D
