Let us know if there's anything besides the prayers we can do to help! You're both family.

Damn! Prayers sent, and we've put her on the prayer list at Mom's church, as well as ours.

Re: MRI - possible bad results
She has been digging on the internet, playing "House".
She has figured out a disease that fits her MRI, CT scan and some of her other long term medical oddities. The MRI images even line up.
Behcet's disease.
We are hoping (obviously) that her biopsy comes back clean. Then perhaps her docs will listen to this possibility. Currently, cancer doctor sees cancer, period. Once we have a counter indication, hopefully we can get them to CONSIDER something beyond cancer.
They are already talking about brain, direct drip chemo and whole head radiation treatment. Even trying to set up the schedule.
She shut that done, quick.
"doc, I have a 148 IQ. So you are telling me that RADIATING my WHOLE HEAD will not do permanent cognitive damage starting IMMEDIATELY?"
long pause. "um, no, but..."
"So what you are saying is, I can trade HALF my IQ for a doubled "life span"?"
"well, I wouldn't put it quite..."
"with all due respect, no thanks."

So you're scheduling an appointment with a rheumatologist and/or neurologist for a second opinion, right?

Lung biopsy (allegedly) is tomorrow. Hospital is being weird.Aesop wrote:So you're scheduling an appointment with a rheumatologist and/or neurologist for a second opinion, right?
Tomorrow (allegedly) she is going to call a rheumatologist. She has already spoken to an integrative medicine guy and has a follow up appointment with him.

Don't EVER take the first diagnosis seriously. Get a second (or third) opinion. If two of the three agree, you MIGHT be on the right track.
