Meh. Most of the "awesome" stuff left out was incredibly stupid like the Lobo, quislings, Cuba becoming the world's richest nation, all the military characters, the Battle of Yonkers, and the socio-political commentary. That last part was utter garbage and really smug to boot. Like, South-Park-Prius-Owner-Farting-Into-A-Wine-Flute-and-Snorting-It smug.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I found it to be the sort of infuriatingly bad book a smart person writes. They do a bit of research, they get excited, they mix in a few historical anecdotes and start beating a keyboard like it owes them money, and it feels smart so a lot of people who don't know better read it and think it makes sense. But every time he started writing about certain things he'd clearly had a Wikipedia-level familiarity with at best, like how guns work or what explosives do, nonsense like the SIR and PIE showed up like a big fat dog turd on the pages.

It's like watching someone confidently step up to the plate, swing with perfect form at a fastball, miss, lose his grip, and send the bat flying into the stands where it kills a guy. Then the crowd goes wild for the batter and you're just like, "no, that's wrong. Not just a little wrong, but totally wrong. Why are people so excited about this?"

Think of a couple of million of them coming at you slowly with only head shots able to stop them. Then think of the number of shooters who could consistently keep popping off head shots. I saw the preview of WWZ and think I probably won't even bother with Netflix. The book was actually pretty interesting as a technical study of the aftermath of an event.

Because people (99%) are worthless sheep. If you are a Godwin junkie, I'll avoid Hitler and use another analogy…several hundred people drank poisoned kook-aid and killed themselves because they thought Jim Jones was God.

'Nuff said.

There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

I thought Ringo came up with the best idea, conex with lights and sirens to attract them into a woodchopper, all over a bay filled with sharks. The "Darkling Sea" books.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

But you've gotta remember, Ringo's formative years were spent in the 82nd Airborne!

I think Larry Correia had the best idea in Monster Hunter Alpha.

I wondered if anyone would mention that one!

As far a World War Z is concerned, I read the book, didn't like it, and passed on the movie.

The movie is the same scene in 4 different locations.

Everything is fine. Hero arrives. Everything turns to shit. Hero runs away. Wash, rinse, repeat. CGI hordes suck donkeycock btw.
