Probably the most memorable (for me) games I ever went to was a 1-0 game. Giants - Dodgers at the 'Stick, 1987. Giants journeyman pitcher Mike LaCoss threw a 10 inning shutout, and the Giants won with a run in the bottom of the 10th.
The game was preceded by an Old Timers Game, re-enacting Game 7 of the 1962 Series, Giants vs Yankees. In re-enacting the final at bat, Willie McCovey parked one in the upper deck in right field, a mere 5 feet foul. My dad and I were sitting 10 feet into fair territory.
Giants won the NL West that year, then lost in the LCS to the Cards in 7 games.
One of the things I miss most from being a kid is listening to baseball on the radio in the evenings, or daytime on weekends. Even KNBR can't reach the east coast, and I go to bed before the West coast night games start anyway. Stupid time zones.

Re: Are You Ready For Some Football?
Well, since the Ravens have proved they aren't above the same kind of "look the other way while our players screw the pooch" as everyone else, I have kind of become disenchanted, at least a little. BUT... SEAHAWKS! Just because I still have a soft spot in my heart for the old home team, and they look set to beat much ass again this season. And since I lived in Texas from 1965 to 1975, may I just say, "Screw the Cowboys!" Damn, I got tired of hearing about them. "America's Team?" When did we vote on THAT?

Birds gotta swim, fish gotta fly, assholes gotta ass, until the day they die.
